We usually meet every fourth Wednesday of the month, which would have meant we met on Christmas Day.
But Christmas falls on that fourth Wednesday this year.
So our next meeting was moved up a week and will be on Wednesday, December 18th, at 6:45pm at Orchard View Church of God on Leffingwell in Grand Rapids.
We will celebrate with a bit of prayer, singing Christmas carols (tune up those pipes!), and some potluck goodies to share. We are not likely to continue reading Sr. Joan Chittister’s book The Rule of Benedict: Insights for the Ages. Or the new book we selected: Charles Cummings’ Monastic Practices. But it’s possible. If we do get to the readings it’ll be the first 3-4 chapters in Cummings, and chapters 36-40 in Chittister.
Our main focus will be fellowship and sharing the joy of the holiday.
Which means you’re welcome to join us without reading a word in any book. Just show up.
